What fits here now
Open a bed and see what you can still plant there today. Free.
Sow & Tell knows your growing zone and frost dates. It tells you what to plant and when, reminds you to water and harvest, helps with pests the gentle way, and keeps a record of everything you grow.
What's inside
Every count below is a real page or entry in the app, written in plain words from university Extension and USDA sources. The whole guide is free.
Each kind of plant has its own page: vegetables, fruit and nuts, herbs, flowers and bulbs, yard trees, shrubs, native wildflowers, shade plants and houseplants.
Named varieties, like 'Cherokee Purple' tomato or 'Bloodgood' Japanese maple, listed on their plant's page.
Insects, mites, slugs and animals, each with steps from the gentlest fix to a last-resort spray.
Infections like blight and mildew, and problems that aren't germs at all, like overwatering or a nutrient shortage.
How to recognize each one, which ones are dangerous to touch or eat, and how to get rid of it.
Lady beetles, lacewings, bees and other helpers, so you know what not to spray.
Free & Premium
There's a lot in both, so each has its own page.

541 is the number of plant pages, one for each kind of plant, like tomato or hosta. Varieties are the named types listed on those pages, like 'Cherokee Purple' tomato. We count them separately so the numbers are honest.
Yes. The whole app, guide included, works in English or Spanish, and so does Say it.
Your phone's own speech recognition turns what you say into words; Sow & Tell only gets the words, and nothing goes to our servers. Depending on your phone, its speech service may work offline or may use the phone maker's or Google's servers, under their privacy policy.
Your garden is saved on your phone. Things like sharing, backup and photo ID only send what they need to work, and you can delete your online data from inside the app. Read the privacy policy.
